- Choose a path to conformity
The CE Mark is basically obtained
on the "honor system". It is a suppliers
self-declaration of conformance to the applicable European
Commission directives. Product testing can be done
in-house, at an independent lab or by a Competent Body such as TÜV
Rheinland.
- Test Products
- Create a "Manufacturer's
Technical File"
This is a document prepared by
and kept by the manufacturer that explains how conformity has
been determined. This document must be made available to
EU authorities upon request.
- Declaration of Conformity
This is a document that
accompanies the first shipment. It should identify
applicable directives and standards.
- Affix the CE Mark per the
regulations set forth by the European Commission.
